Counting the Seeds in Your Fruit

How many times have you cut open a piece of fruit and examined the seeds? It’s safe to say that most people pay little attention to the seeds, and only focus on enjoying the refreshing, juicy meat of the fruit. We cut the seeds out and discard them as being useless to our refreshing snack, but what if we examined the seeds a little closer?

Regardless of what your favorite fruit is you are likely to encounter a seed in your treat. Whether it is a peach with only one seed, or a pomegranate that can number anywhere from 200-1400 seeds, there is one fascinating fact. All the seeds can be counted. What we cannot count however, is the number of fruit in the seeds. Each little seed can fulfill its purpose of producing a beautiful leafy plant, but until the plants adulthood we will never know the full potential of that seed.

As human beings, we are the same way. Only we need to view our seed not in the physical sense of procreation but in the figurative sense of what we put out to others. We can number our seeds in terms of good works we do, the lives we impact, the number of gestures we make. We cannot measure the full impact any of those choices have on numerous other people. Bad seeds produce bad fruit, while good seeds produce good fruit. What kind of a seed do you wish to plant?

Your actions can dictate your growth, your reputation, and your ability to find your place in the garden. Allow your good deed to be your good seed. Sow your seeds in fertile soil and watch how much fruit you can produce around you. Just as it takes one bad decision to ruin your reputation, one small act of kindness to someone in need can have a life altering affect on many other people without your knowledge. The beauty is that most people are in need of something. No matter what you offer someone, it will be appreciated in ways you cannot imagine. Do not assume that other people are fine as they are because the surface looks good. Plant a seed of kindness anyway.

And remember: we can count the seeds in a fruit but not the fruit in a seed.

Blessings,

Troy
