If you have a bit of Bible background, then this post will make a little more sense. For those who are believers in man’s greatness, I hope it gives pause to think. We are currently living in a world of crisis. Especially in this country where our social lives have been flipped on its head. We are not creatures of isolation, neither are we creatures that learn from history…especially biblical history.
Some of you may be familiar with Rabbi Jonathan Cahn and a few of his very popular books. The Harbinger and its video documentary The Isaiah 9:10 Judgements (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wZwZyaKbuFw) deal with an eerie similarity between 9/11 and the invasion of the Assyrians into the northern tribes of Israel found in Isaiah 9:10. Cahn’s book The Mystery of the Shemitah (which is a Sabbatical year, best described in lay terms here: https://www.gotquestions.org/The-Shemitah.html) offers a glimpse of what can happen if a nation fails to repent, and one item he uses is the housing crash of 2008. Along those lines, let’s look at something else.
Jehovah God, should you be a believer, had shown a penchant for taking down false gods throughout the Old Testament. The ten plagues of Egypt during the Exodus specifically targeted ten Egyptian deities. This PDF http://www.stat.rice.edu/~dobelman/Dinotech/10_Eqyptian_gods_10_Plagues.pdf offers a fantastic explanation of who those gods were, and what they represented. None of them could overcome the power of Jehovah. This page, https://www.learnreligions.com/false-gods-of-the-old-testament-700162, gives a great listing of Old Testament pagan gods and the result of their worship. Dagon met his fate when the Philistines set the Ark of the Covenant in front of it. Baal was proven false when Elijah called down fire and Baal could not. Solomon lost his kingdom when he fell prey to setting up pagan idols and temples to appease his many wives. The list goes on.
If we take all this into account, from the Old Testament to The Harbinger, and the Mystery of the Shemitah, has America learned anything about repentance in the last 20 years? If anything, we have gotten worse as a nation. We have legalized things that are a clear affront to what God calls righteous, and we have gleefully endorsed some of the worst behavior the Bible ever described. In March 2020, life as we’ve known it is different. Athletes that we have idolized have been taken away from their jobs and our source of entertainment. Actors and Actresses who’s opinions we have given credence to, who spout elitism and liberal cores are not currently being shown in our theatres. The dollar, which has been esteemed more than some family members, is being diminished daily in stock movings. We do not know where this crisis will ultimately go, or what the end result will be, but Jehovah has shown a way of removing false gods in very interesting ways in order to get His point across.
Much as the case has always been, people get to employ free will to live as the choose to live, and believe as they choose to believe, but when all is done there is always a higher power that decides the ending in a blessing or a curse, and a judgment that is fitting to the actions. Is this viral outbreak a part of God’s plan? You can choose and no one should fault your choice. May a full recovery of individual health, and our nation be graced upon us very soon.
Blessings.
