*Update: This was initially posted in April of 2020. In March of 2022 the covid restrictions were repealed almost completely nationwide.
Last month I had a dream. A very vivid dream regarding the coronavirus and how long it will last. I put a little stock in it at the time, and assumed the dream was a result of being bombarded constantly about coronavirus from MSM and social media, and essentially every time I turned around. Then I really started thinking about the contents of the dream. First some theological background going in.
Rabbi Jonathan Cahn wrote a book following 9/11 titled “The Harbinger.” There is an accompanying video titled “The Isaiah 9:10 Judgment” (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wZwZyaKbuFw) that essentially follows the outline of the book. In the book and video, Rabbi Cahn parallels the events of 9/11 to the events that happened to the northern tribe of Israel following an initial Assyrian invasion. Scripturally, God was looking for repentance from a sinful nation but instead received an arrogant response from the people. This response led to a second Assyrian invasion in which the northern tribe of Israel was decimated and taken into Assyrian captivity never to return to their homeland. Cahn’s point was due to the shocking similarity of events, which I highly recommend reading and/or watching, America had a choice to make if we were to keep under God’s blessing. The choice was to be a repentant nation, or be an arrogant nation. Cahn shows that America chose to be an arrogant nation very much like the ten lost tribes of Israel. So what would happen next.
Cahn’s follow up to “The Harbinger” was “The Mystery of the Shemitah” released in 2014, and you can see the accompanying video below.
This book dealt with the biblical importance of a Shemitah, which is a Sabbatical year. Just as we have a Sabbath day on the seventh day of the week, we have a Sabbatical year every seven years. This Sabbatical year is a time of blessing or judgment, depending on how the previous six years were led. For more detailed information on just what a Shemitah is and its significance, I HIGHLY recommend visiting this website https://www.chabad.org/library/article_cdo/aid/562077/jewish/What-Is-Shemittah.htm, as information in this website will pertain exactly to the end of this blog. One example of the importance of Shemitah to God can be found in Jeremiah 29:10-14 “This is what the Lord says: “When seventy years are completed for Babylon, I will come to you and fulfill my good promise to bring you back to this place.” The southern kingdom of Judah was taken into Babylonian captivity by king Nebuchadnezzar, a story most people are familiar with, but with the promise that in 70 years they will be freed to return to their homeland. Why 70 years? Because the southern kingdom disobeyed the law of the Shemitah for 490 years, meaning that for 70 Shemitah years (70×7=49) the kingdom did not forgive debts, and they did not allow the land its time to rest and heal. Therefore, God removed the people so that for 70 years the land could rest and grow wild. This isn’t to say that no one lived on the land, but that the people the land was deeded to were removed. This fulfilled the promise of the Shemitah by bringing judgment upon the people.
Cahn makes reference to this similarity when in 2008 the housing crash occurred which created the largest market drop in history and sent the American economy into recession. His reasoning was that seven years passed since 9/11/2001 and no significant repentance was found in the American population, hence this Sabbatical year in 2008 saw a judgment on finances. Now how does all this relate to my dream?
In my dream, the vision was of covid19 and how long it would last. The voice in my dream stated that coronavirus will be with us for two years as judgment for the two Shemitah years we missed in repentance as a nation which would take us to the year 2022. If Cahn was correct in his evaluation of 9/11 and its similarity to Isaiah 9:10, then 2008 was a Shemitah, 2015 was a Shemitah, and 2022 will be a Shemitah. Referencing the Chabad website above: “The year following the destruction of the second Holy Temple was the first year of a seven-year Sabbatical cycle. In the Jewish calendar, counting from Creation, this was the year 3829, 68–69 CE on the secular calendar. By counting sevens from then, we see that the next Shemittah year will be the year 5782 after Creation, which runs from September 7, 2021 – September 25, 2022.” This shows that 2001, 2008, and 2015 were indeed Shemitah years. So what we have seen is that there was no repentance as a nation following the events of 9/11/2001. There was no repentance following the market crash of 2008, and there was no repentance following the 2015 Shemitah year. That is two Shemitah years missed when we had a warning to repent, leading to a judgment of nations into the next Shemitah year of 2022…much like the 70 years Judah spent in captivity…two years of coronavirus.
Not only have we not had a national awakening of repentance, but we doubled down on all things considered abominable to God. Just look at the laws states and the federal government have passed that completely and thoroughly violate God’s principles. First evil is tolerated, then it is accepted, then it becomes law, and that is what we have witnessed. Time will tell if there is accuracy in the dream, but I know people are more inclined to argue than to repent, and our arrogance has not diminished.
Revelation 16:15 “Look, I come like a thief! Blessed is the one who stays awake and remains clothed, so as not to go naked and be shamefully exposed.”
