Blogs are special to me. Typically I am able to write my thoughts and emotions in a general way that I believe others can relate to as well, that’s what makes them special. I can share my feelings and potentially help someone along the way. As a blogger, personal developer, and speaker, my authenticity means the world. Sometimes I need to lay bare everything, sometimes I just want to. It helps me grow as well as demonstrates my humanity and authenticity. Today is different. Today is for someone special.

I was not expecting to find you on the day that we met. I wasn’t looking for you, and I know you weren’t looking for me (maybe you still aren’t). It only took five minutes on our first date to know that you were different. You were real. You were transparent. You were honest. You are a hard person not to care about, and an easy person to admire.

How can someone not be drawn to your personality? It’s magnetic. You own every room you walk into, but I know you. A hard exterior but soft on the inside. You can easily have your feelings hurt, and all I want to do is wrap you in a hug and take it all away…if only I could. It has been such an honor and a privilege to watch you grow in your development from where you were to the woman you want to be. You work hard, and I recognize that.

The easiest thing in the world for me is to take care of you. You never ask for anything of significance, so I’m left with trying to find the little things that can make you happy. Memorizing your coffee orders at different coffee shops so I can surprise you with java and a muffin first thing in the morning. You only had to tell me once that orchids were your favorite flower, and every now and then some orchids will magically appear for you. I know your favorite color and what size you wear depending on the type of outfit. I make it a point to file everything away in my little “rolodex” of a brain. To me, you deserve the world.

It isn’t work for me to put you first. Having lunch ready for you is simple. Taking you to work is my joy. Putting a smile on your face makes my heart happy. Watching you sit in my chair and relax while I clean up from dinner is easy. You deserve to be put first, and I promised myself to do my best to give you everything you’ve never had. I want everything I do to be different than anything you’ve ever experienced, even down to the way I look at you. You are smart. You are intelligent. You are talented. You are caring. You are beautiful. You are strong. You are amazing.

You are my business partner, my purpose, my passion, my motivation for tackling my dreams, because I know that by succeeding in my dreams I can help you achieve yours. Whether it was 4 weeks, 4 months, 4 years, or 30 years, it has been God’s blessing to me to have had you in my life. You’ve unintentionally taught me so much about myself on this journey as well, and I hope I’ve grown as a result. God ha(s)(d) a plan for this from the beginning. Maybe you needed me at the time we met. Maybe I needed you.

I have no control over anything except myself. I will never put my needs and wants on your shoulders if they would stunt you from being who you’re meant to be and prevent you from being truly happy. Who knows, you could decide to be gone tomorrow…but I hope not. I put my faith and trust in 3 little words that get shared between us, and I can only hope they hold deep meaning to you as well. So you know, I cherish every moment I get to spend with you. Every call, every text, every second, because nothing in life is ever guaranteed. I will always embrace you as if it may be our last time. I will always look at you as if I may never see you again. I will always absorb every moment of you. Just know, nothing is work when it comes to making you happy, and the only sacrifice to me is when I’m not near you. Thank you for being my strength and my purpose. Really, the point of all of this is that I Just Wanted to Say…I Love you.
